This is the guide you need to remove the palmrest of your Adamo XPS notebook. It’s quite a lenghty process but simple enough but an additional tool is required to remove some of the screws. You’ll need a Torx T-5 screw driver.

.) Turn your notebook over and remove the four screws using the Torx screw driver.

.) Remove the two screws in the center.

.) Remove all the remaining screws around the edges. There should be at least 12 of them.

.) Once all the screws are out turn over the notebook.

.) Open the screen and remove the battery.

.) When the battery has been removed get the notebook the right way up and starting on the left hand side, carefully pry the palmrest from the chassis. Its always nice to start near the hinges and work your way around the front corner then towards the right hand side.

.) Disconnect the function button cable.

.) Once the function button cable has been disconnected, flip the palmrest over to get access to the touchpad ribbon cable. Disconnect the ribbon cable by firstly unlocking the retaining clip and pulling out the cable. Once the touchpad cable has been disconnected the palmrest is completely free to be removed.
